This is roughly how the topic of export at Fjord Hütten can be summed up. We have been exporting our sales huts to a wide variety of regions for several years in a row. But this is not mass production. It is more about selling lovingly and professionally manufactured huts "made in Germany" to enthusiastic customers overseas - where they ultimately become the centerpiece of German Christmas markets in Japan or the USA, for example, and provide a homely, authentic atmosphere.
“How come they buy your fjord cabins –
why don’t they build them themselves?”
Yes, we are sometimes asked questions like this too. Sure, it sounds a bit surreal: why would you ship wooden huts thousands of kilometers across the ocean when you could theoretically build them yourself? Quite simply - because it's not as simple as it sounds at first. In addition, the freight costs in particular are often misjudged, i.e. far too high than they actually are.
Let's take the example of an organizer of a “Real German Christmas Market”. Great idea, after all, tasty sausages, steaming mulled wine and crispy pretzels are known around the globe. Finding the right exhibitors, products and restaurateurs is one thing, but finding beautiful sales huts to create the right feeling and ambience is a completely different challenge. Not to mention the fact that, depending on the region, the craftsmanship is either completely different (e.g. in terms of quality, expertise and availability) or the raw materials are considerably more expensive.

At the beginning of the year, various trade fairs are held on a wide range of topics in the event industry. Christmasworld is particularly worth mentioning here, the leading global trade fair on the topic of Christmas - a paradise for event organizers, business owners, sellers and many more. Of course, we, Fjord Hütten GmbH, will also be represented here with a stand. So that the international audience can get a real impression of our huts and experience them up close, we have a small version of our bestseller at our stand. The modular system is the same as for our larger huts. Here we can show how the huts are designed, assembled, dismantled and transported. The system and the quality impress visitors to the trade fair from near and far - and this is why we have now been able to export our huts all over the world.
We will be present again at Christmasworld in Frankfurt next February from February 7th to 11th, 2025 – we look forward to welcoming numerous visitors to our stand.
